They stayed at Château de Bissieux

My partner and I spent a delightful time in a peaceful, green château filled with history. We would like to thank the owners for their kindness and for welcoming us into this unusual and pleasant place.

I have never seen a château so beautifully restored by private owners: every room has been carefully considered down to the smallest detail, restored using high-quality materials and with great taste by its owners. Each bedroom has its own distinct theme.
We stayed in a spacious room overlooking the park, with beautiful furniture and décor, and a very attractive bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, with freshly pressed fruit juice and a selection of local specialties. The owners were discreet yet always available.

We had always dreamed of staying in a château, and this one proved to be a wonderful opportunity. Located north of Lyon (about a one-hour drive), this small château is a true haven of peace. The rooms, carefully decorated and full of unique charm, are run by extremely friendly, attentive and thoughtful owners; the establishment has a very family-oriented feel. As for the food, it is simply delicious.

Château de Bissieux is located at the gates of Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne. The centre of this medieval town can be reached in a 10-minute walk. Do not hesitate to take a small detour along a country road to enjoy a pleasant evening — a perfect way to start your holiday. The best way to enjoy it is to savour a lovely meal in the village and, after a bottle of wine, return peacefully to relax.

The typically French breakfast is included and is truly worth it: the tart is exquisite.

Why travel to Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne? Of course for the Dombes region, which is truly remarkable, but one absolutely must stop at Château de Bissieux. Staying in this place is a privilege in every respect. The lady of the house is exceptionally discreet and courteous; she shares her passion for this remarkable château, restored according to the highest standards by master craftsmen. In every room, she reveals the expertise behind this beautiful restoration — you will not know which bedroom to choose.
I would love to return to stay in another of these rooms, simply for the pleasure of experiencing such a sense of well-being once again.

What can be said of the park, of absolute romanticism, where a painter would find endless poetic inspiration. Thank you, dear Madam; I am happy today to be able to pass on my enthusiasm to your future guests.
